Postal Strikes
Posted by Claire Brennan on October 21, 2009.
The UK is due to be affected by postal strikes for the next two days. This will mean delays for anyone who orders over the next couple of days as I use Royal mail to deliver the stamps. I have no idea how long it will take to clear up the backlog that this will undoubtedly cause, there is no official timescale at this time.
My plan is to keep all incoming orders from the next couple of days and post them on Monday 26th as I do not wish for anyone’s stamps to get ‘lost’ in the backlog. If you are ordering over the next couple of days, and you need your stuff in a hurry, you need to email me before you order so that we can investigate courier charges for your area.
The best case scenario is that it’ll all be back to normal on Monday, causing just a couple of days delay.
If the strike continues or causes undue disruption I have the option of mailing from the republic of Ireland. This will work for USA, Canadian, Australian, European and South African orders, (sorry UK folks, but Royal mail will still eventually handle your orders!) but it is something I will be able to do only if I have a sizable batch of orders to go out. I will need to drive the 50 or so miles to the Republic of Ireland to post such orders and you can appreciate that it’s not something I can do every day!! LOL. If I find that this is the case I will of course email you to discuss the matter.
Also, if you haven’t seen it already, you may wish to see the announcement on my blog concerning my suppliers. There’s a wee link to my blog at the top of this page, many thanks.
