Update

Posted by Claire Brennan on October 26, 2009.

EDIT – the release has started on my blog, but I’m leaving this post on the store for another day or so since it contains the competition!!!

Orders
Ok, I took the opportunity to post off all the outstanding orders I got during the strike, NI did not seem particularly badly affected by the two day strike and I was receiving mail as normal today. I spoke to a couple of folks I ‘know’ in the Royal Mail and decided to get everything away this morning.

The Royal Mail are having further strike action later this week again and I will deal with that as best I can as before. I will post updates here!

Vintage Labels No.4
I am still taking names for the waiting list, I was hoping to have stock tomorrow but it will not be arriving until Friday at the earliest. I will email folks on the waiting list and post here when they come in. Folks on the waiting list will be guaranteed a set each, if you need a couple of these sets do let me know when you email me to get on the list I’m at: claire.brennan1@ntlworld.com

Earth Angel
This set is now out of stock, it will be approximately 3 weeks before I have them in again.

Next Release
I’m hoping to start the next release in a couple of days!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Has anyone noticed the mystery set in the store? I’m taking guesses here!!! The first person to correctly guess what the set will be will win one!!! Remember, post your comment here by clicking on the All News link (below) – this will take you to the news page for the store. If you click on the header of this post entry (update) a page will open where you can leave a comment!!

Please note: The nature of this set is such that I will have to censor/delete the winner’s comment!!! OOH mystery!!! LOVE IT!!

Comments

  1. Heidi S October 26, 2009

Oh this is exciting! Is it a set for packaging and labeling gifts from the kitchen? I can’t wait to see what you have up your sleeve Claire! Thanks for a chance to win (and for the fun).

  2. Kerri Sandercock October 26, 2009

For a Christmas-loving person, I think your next stamp set will be Father Christmas and perhaps, Reindeer!!

  3. Lynne October 26, 2009

Knowing how much you love Christmas, I am hoping that it will be a Nestie-friendly Nativity set – baby, 3 kings, all in that wonderful Waltzingmouse style!

  4. Sharron Gregory October 26, 2009

This is going to be such fun! Could it be vintage Santas? I thought it would be a Christmas set and this was the first thing that came to mind! Can’t wait!

  5. Alyssa S October 26, 2009

I think it’s a funny and somewhat dirty little sentiment set!

  6. angela mclean October 26, 2009

Gosh, wondering what is so SECRET…. OK, a real wild guess, a lovers stamp set for Valentine’s day complete with an invisible ink pen?
    Angela xxx.

  7. Mandy Gill October 26, 2009

mmmmm, this is a difficult one, I think the next release is going to be all about love….hearts and sentiments.

  8. Sarah Masteller October 26, 2009

Hmm first I was thinking New years then I did a 360 and I am guessing New Baby stamp set!!!!

  9. Cyndie October 26, 2009

Hmmmm… could it be an Easter stamp set? I don’t see any specifically Easter-related sets yet, although the beautiful Celtic cross in your Celtic Heritage set could certainly be used for that. But why the mystery? Hmmm… maybe it’s all about mystery! Like Agatha Christie, and Sherlock Holmes, and magnifying glasses and top secret documents … Am I getting warm?

  10. Joyce October 26, 2009

Yes, you do love Christmas but is it not a tad late for stamps for the holiday? Perhaps not but as the Christmas ideas have not been deleted I am going to guess that the next set has got something to do with nature itself…trees, flowers, leaves, foliage etc….small animals which children like….that’s my guess anyhow…..it’s fun to take part whatever comes along…just how many more days do we have to wait?

  11. Babies- Beth October 26, 2009

Perhaps ‘Nollaig Shona Duit’? With some candles, holly, and a wreath similar to the acorns one?? Wrens? A manger for the baby in Celtic Heritage Gosh, there’s so much you can do, Claire!!

  12. Rose October 27, 2009

I’m guessing maybe a beautiful Bethlehem/ manger set?? Whatever it is it will be beautiful!

  13. Mary Duffek October 27, 2009

I think the secret stamp set will be something to do with your adorable mouse in your logo…and if it’s not…it toally should be. I love the mouse, it’s so whimiscal and happy looking. (I am not a mouse lover at all…but lovey your mouse on your logo…LOL!)

  14. Regina October 27, 2009

Okay, I love your mystery stamp set contest, and I am laughing about your clue that you’ll have to censor the winning comment. I just can’t see you putting out an X-rated set, so I’m going out on a limb and saying it’s a “naughty or nice” Christmas set, heavy on the naughty?! Oh well, whatever it is, it’s sure to be wonderful!!

  15. Lisa Hjulberg October 27, 2009

Oh, I’m so bad at guessing! More vintage labels perhaps that match other Nesties?

  16. Serendipity October 27, 2009

Hmmmmm….how about some more sets to work with the Nestabilities? Or maybe some Snow-themed sets? Or how about a set with your little Waltzingmouse as the star? What ever it is, I’m sure it will be great!!

  17. Karolyn Loncon October 27, 2009

Ohhh, you are really GOOD at this whole mystery thing!! Okay, I’m not the most observant person on the face of the earth, but I noticed a darling little dancing mouse – perhaps a Waltzing Mouse set? That’s my guess, and I’m stickin’ to it. Probably not right, but hey I tried, right?!! LOL Thanks for making these releases so much fun, Claire!

  18. MicheyMoo October 27, 2009

I"m guessing its a NEW YEARS set. We all seem to have Christmas and Easter sets….but no New Years Sets. Personally, I’d love a set that celebrates the beginning of a new year (esp if the year drawing to a close has been a trying/difficult one).
But that’s just my guess. :)

  19. Lee Cockrum October 27, 2009

Such suspense!! I am going to go with a snowman stamp set?!

  20. Alyssa B October 27, 2009

a little boy or little girl set, with toys and a teddy and a doll—all those sorts of things

  21. Michele Hetland October 27, 2009

Oh Claire I really haven’t a clue! But I am guessing its a new label set designed to go with one of the spellbinders nestie sets.

  22. Curt O'Brein October 27, 2009

I’m guessing that it is snowpeople (snowmen and snowwomen) Something to do with snow and trees! I’m seeing glittery snow. . . LOL Best, Curt

  23. Donelda October 27, 2009

Okay Claire, I am going to guess it is a New Years set!! :-)

  24. Rachel October 27, 2009

I think maybe it has something to do with baking!!

  25. Brooke October 27, 2009

I was thinking Valentine’s Day too, but seeing as that’s covered I’ll go with an alphabet set. The suspense is going to kill me!

  26. Heather M October 27, 2009

We all know how much you love Christmas, but I also recall your fondness for shortbread. With your hint, I’m thinking your new set will have something to do with baking! Cookies, cupcakes and such with all the chips and sprinkles separate so we can build our images ‘Handmade with Love’.
If not, maybe I just gave you a fun idea :)

  27. Margaret Anne Clark October 27, 2009

Hmmmm… I was thinking snowmen… but I am so with the ladies above who want a manger set (in style of Earth Angel please !!!) or vintage Santas – I liked that one too. It’s probably too late for Halloween but sweet witchy stuff? OOH OOH gingerbread housie !!! Ummm.. little house set generally ?? I DON’T KNOW!!!! SHOW ME!!! SHOW ME !!! (going to have a wee lie down now…)

  28. Sharon D October 27, 2009

Is it a cooking set (since you said the release was so close you could smell it)?

  29. Nancy McKinney October 27, 2009

I agree with someone earlier that you really SHOULD offer a set with your adorable mouse, but such mystery…I’m guessing a ‘whodunit’ or secret admirer set just in time for both Christmas and Valentines.

  30. Casey October 27, 2009

I’d have to guess – CATS!?!

  31. Sharron Gregory October 27, 2009

Thinking again this morning about your new release! Wondering if it could be another background set, perhaps a quilt set or something like cloth or weaving. I was just thinking how popular the plaid and stitching stamps have been. Hope it is okay to submit a 2nd guess…..

  32. hayley kiernan October 27, 2009

Gosh I had a few ideas but they have been mentioned. So I thought as its coming upto christmas a christmas tree set or a party invite set, maybe another nestie friendly set, I just love those. Also would love a mixed themed tag/label set and a wedding themed set would be nice. I can’t wait to find out!!

  33. Laurie October 27, 2009

Everyone has come up with some great ideas! And I’m guessing these may fuel what comes next but as they haven’t been deleted yet, must be something else. I’m thinking that those on the baking trail on on the right track due to your clue earlier, but to make it more specific…hmm… How about a Santa’s Milk and Cookies set?

  34. Lesley October 27, 2009

I’m thinking it’s literally a “Mystery Set”. All detectivey/CSI-like with fingerprints and a magnifying glass and one of those swirly backgrounds that disguises a hidden word that you discover using a red clear decoder screen-thingy…Is that a technical enough guess, LOL?

  35. Steph October 27, 2009

I’m going to go with cute aprons and deserts. x

  36. lindsay October 27, 2009

    flowers…lots and lots of flowers!!!…i think…i hope…

  37. Jacki Tobin October 27, 2009

As all my guesses are still mentioned by others, here’s my try – A Secret garden set? I hope! With a swing, and a birdbath, and a…OH! sorry, carried away! Let us know SOON, please!!!

  38. Allison T. October 27, 2009

My guess is a set based on the “Night Before Christmas” so it would include your darling waltzing mouse!

  39. Alyssa B October 27, 2009

Ok…my new guess is a baby set, but it has to be password protected b/c it has nude babies and you don’t want to offend anyone??? (yes, I am going out on a limb here!)

  40. Alyssa S October 27, 2009

Whoops! That was supposed to be Alyssa S. I was thinking of my friend Alyssa B and put that in the name slot.

  41. Tamara October 27, 2009

I think it’s a set with your mouse, but that is also a “stamped by” sentiment included in the set.

  42. Tamara October 27, 2009

What about some stamps that coordinate with Country Stencils since you use them so much too?

  43. Tamara October 27, 2009

You take such amazing photos when you travel that I think there will be some stamps that remind you of your travels.

  44. Kathy W October 27, 2009

Hi Claire, I’m bundled up cozy today as I look out the window at our first snowfall of the season. I’m going to guess that your new release is about snow: different types of beautiful snowflakes…and maybe a sleigh tossed in for good measure. I’m loving my stamps from you; can’t wait for the release!

  45. Tamara October 27, 2009

You make such gorgeous templates that I bet you are designing some stamps that will work perfectly with your templates.

  46. Tamara October 27, 2009

    And, my last guess,
I think it will be another set that coordinates perfectly with a nestabilities tag set. That stamp set flew off the shelves (glad I have mine), and I think another one is in order.

  47. Nancy October 27, 2009

First guess is a Valentine’s set. . . maybe roses?

  48. Nancy October 27, 2009

Second guess… still time for a Christmas set, so how about a fireplace/hearth. With all the accompanying elements?

  49. Nancy October 27, 2009

    Baking. Kitchen sweetness??

  50. Nancy October 27, 2009

How about florals? Just pretty pretty flowers?

  51. Nancy October 27, 2009

Oh – another background maker?! You do that so expertly!!

Personally, I’m hoping for anything with more of your unique sentiments. So many sets are repetitive but yours are extra special :)

  52. Nancy October 27, 2009

Something for St. Paddy’s Day?? I know you have the Celtic Heritage set, but maybe something else??

  53. Nancy October 27, 2009

My second to last guess for now…. birds. Birds are still quite popular :).

  54. Nancy October 27, 2009

Last guess for now ~ trees.

Claire – whatever it is, I’m planning on loving it :) !!! I worked with some of my stamps last weekend and love them all!

  55. Tracy G October 27, 2009

Oh my, this is too much suspense, maybe it’s a calendar set?

  56. Debra Daam October 27, 2009

    My guess is Happy Christmas.

  57. Debra Daam October 27, 2009

    Another guess.

    Happy Snowtime.

  58. Debra Daam October 27, 2009

    Another guess.

    Happy Heart Valentine!

  59. Judy Frey October 27, 2009

I think it will be Just Desserts. Maybe with a little mouse eating a delicious cupcake.

  60. Michelle R October 27, 2009

    Hmmmm…maybe a recipe set?

  61. Nancy October 27, 2009

Making another go of it. I’m thinking of the Emerald Isle… something to do with the water? I’m hoping a scene stamp set, possibly with a church? Or a wonderful village?

  62. Nancy October 27, 2009

A birthday set?! I don’t think you have a just for birthdays set!

  63. angela mclean October 27, 2009

second guess…. christmas food. Yum yum. Angela XXX.

  64. Kelly Calandrino October 27, 2009

Could it be something to do with pigs or sheep?

  65. Emma October 27, 2009

    Hi Claire,

Found the right place hopefully to make my guess. This is so such fun :D I am going to guess Mice, mouse, mices ;D to tie in the waltzingmouse, maybe their dancing too hee hee.

Anyway thanks for the fun and the opportunity to win your fabulous stamps.

    Emma x

  66. Amanda Fowler October 27, 2009

I guess is all sorts of cakes, big ones, little ones, cup cakes, tarts pies.

  67. Amanda Fowler October 27, 2009

Chocolate, all things wonderful and chocolatey !

  68. Nancy October 27, 2009

    Lace?

  69. Nancy October 27, 2009

    Get well set??

  70. Sarah October 27, 2009

Exciting – can’t wait to see them. I am guessing reindeers and penguins, or maybe the Northpole and Elves. Sarah xxx

  71. Sarah October 27, 2009

Another guess :-) what about a fire place with stockings and Father Christmas boots. Sarah xxx

  72. Sharron Gregory October 27, 2009

i’ve been out all afternoon but decided to make another stab at guessing. I was thinking of what would have an Irish theme and thought perhaps cottages—then fairies or elves came to mind! That could be so charming! I love the idea of using your mouse sometime though—maybe a music set with your waltzingmouse!

  73. Karen S. October 27, 2009

I’m thinking a quilt set – maybe Christmas themed.

  74. Karen S. October 27, 2009

maybe a music themed set – w/ instruments or christmas sheet music, etc.

  75. Karen S. October 27, 2009

winter activities such as skiing, sleding, ice skating, etc.

  76. Nancy October 27, 2009

Clocks? Grandfather clock, cuckoo clock? I’d love a nice cuckoo clock stamp :) .

  77. Nancy October 27, 2009

Nursery rhymes. No?! :) It’s fun guessing, Claire!!

  78. Anne M October 27, 2009

Mmm it’s got to be Christmas dinner complete with crackers, place settings etc!! Whatever it is I can’t wait!

  79. Michele Hetland October 27, 2009

Perhaps a secret message set? With a decoder? Maybe a little magnifiying glass… a little no peeking sentiment… hands over eyes, that type of thing.

  80. Robin Desko October 27, 2009

A new snowman set, something along the lines of Naked Snowman or Dress Me Up Snowman

  81. Lynne Phelps October 28, 2009

Ok, I’m thinking ahead to Valentine’s Day – I think the new set will be about LOVE!

  82. Lynne Phelps October 28, 2009

I am hoping you will make stamp sets to coordinate with other Nestie Labels!

  83. Lynne Phelps October 28, 2009

OK, another guess. Limericks! What could be more suitable for an Irish stamp company, LOL!

  84. Peggy October 28, 2009

How about a wedding stamp set?

  85. Lee Cockrum October 28, 2009

Okay, I am going to give it another try! How about something star trek? You mentioned Captain Janeway… although I guess Star Trek is “licensed”, so I am going to expand, and say a space them?

  86. Lee Cockrum October 28, 2009

Okay, now my mind is racing!! A beverage set… specifically coffee and tea and things to go with.

  87. Lee Cockrum October 28, 2009

Make your own sundae?desserts.. for party invite, similar to halloween party invites?

  88. Lee Cockrum October 28, 2009

A set to make garden “pictures”, perhaps wheelbarrow, veggies, pots, gloves, hoe, rake etc.

  89. Lee Cockrum October 28, 2009

Hot air balloons and such?! They could be really fun to decorate!

  90. Lee Cockrum October 28, 2009

    Rainy day, showers, wellies, umbrellas
Okay, I think I am going to stop now!!

  91. avonlea October 28, 2009

What a fun mystery to solve!

Hmm…I think I’ll have to think about this and post again, but for my 1st guess… Lovers Lane? Hmm…but that doesn’t seem like someting you’d have to censor or delete. Are you asking us to use foul language, young lady? lol

  92. Marge Robertson October 28, 2009

Claire, I think it’s going to be a Valentine’s Day/Love set & that it will be based around the heart-shaped Nesties!

  93. angela mclean October 28, 2009

    third guess…. animals… pets, farm animals…?
    Angela xxx

  94. Cyndie October 28, 2009

Okay, I’ll try again! Going with your “smell it” clue, I’m going to say it has something to do with skunks! They can be pretty cute once you get past the smell!

  95. Sharon D October 28, 2009

Cats and dogs? (Even if it’s not that this time, I’d like that set SOMETIME.)

  96. Sharon D October 28, 2009

How about old churches and other old buildings (you post such lovely pictures)?

  97. Sharon D October 28, 2009

Or a set showing the seashore (another of your lovely photo posts)?

  98. Julie Masse October 28, 2009

Such a tease Claire! I have NO idea at all what it could be – perhaps you made a a set as a surprise for someone, a good friend or family member?? . . . see I told you have I no idea!

  99. JAIME ALDRIDGE October 28, 2009

OK, I’M GOING TO SAY IT IS A SANTA AND MRS. CLAUS SET. ONE THAT YOU CAN CHANGE THEIR OUTFITS JUST LIKE THE HALF-BAKED GINGERBREAD CUTIES!!

  100. Elaine Mork October 28, 2009

Going to guess at Happy New Year as my ds1 is 18 on New Year’s Eve, so plenty of partying for us this year. Can’t wait to see what it is – love all your designs Claire – made some great Halloween bits and pieces for dd who is having a fancy dress party.

  101. Kathy W October 28, 2009

I’m back again for a second guess. This time I’ll guess the new release will feature dolls, like the old vintage dolls you would find up in the attic, or maybe dolls where you can mix and match outfits. I’ll bet you are getting a lot of great ideas from this thread for future stamp sets! :)

  102. Mary Campbell October 28, 2009

Oh my gosh, I hope I live to see the release as the anticipation is killing me!! I’m thinking maybe something with Santa and Mrs. Claus. But I hope you will do some future releases with themes mentioned above such as fireplace with mantle and stockings, snowmen, etc.

  103. Alicia Vincelette October 28, 2009

Can I get on the waiting list for Very Vintage labels 4?

    Thanks,

    Alicia Vincelette

  105. Karen S. October 28, 2009

Christmas scenes – a view at the Christmas tree through a window

  106. Rose October 28, 2009

I’m guessing this new set is more options to dress up your existing gingerbread men !! Almost like an additions….

  107. Stephanie Perry October 28, 2009

What about another vintage labels for a nestibility lable?

  108. brooke October 28, 2009

Seeing as we can comment more than once I’m joining in the fun all over again.

    Basic sentiments?

  109. brooke October 28, 2009

    New Years set?

  110. brooke October 28, 2009

Around the world? Eg. The Eiffel Tower, Sydney Harbour Bridge

  111. Nancy October 28, 2009

How about a mailbox with a postage “stamp”, letter shapes, maybe an inkwell/quill??

  112. Lynne Phelps October 28, 2009

I adore coffee related stamps and would love to see you do a set about coffee and tea!

  113. Lynne Phelps October 28, 2009

How about one on Not Doing Housework? After all, your blog is about things you did whilst you should have been ironing, LOL!

  114. Lynne Phelps October 28, 2009

How about something to do with Irish music and dancing? A harp, a squeeze box, pipes, lyrics, ghillies… maybe work in the Irish pub scene with a glass of Guinness or a Harp… :-)

  115. Nancy October 29, 2009

Is it a sympathy set, Claire??

  116. Nancy October 29, 2009

Okay.. Top Secret, Confidential, Spy-stuff. Cloak & Dagger. 007.

Okay.. Top Secret, Confidential, Spy-stuff. Cloak & Dagger. 007.You are being very mysterious!!

  117. Nancy October 29, 2009

Treasures… treasure chest…. jewels and gems!!

  118. Nancy October 29, 2009

    Fairies and leprecauns?

  119. Nancy October 29, 2009

Irish folklore. My last guess LOL!! I am fascinated with your secret stamp set!!

  120. Michelle October 29, 2009

I think it’s Christmas mice…actually I think it’s a new line of Stamps relating to your WaltzingMouse Logo.

  121. Rose October 29, 2009

Secret blog….hhhmmmm……could this be some sort of a spy themed set ??
    Hide and seek ??

  122. Rose October 29, 2009

I would love a mice set!!
Maybe a womens clothing set ??? Like a paper doll ??

  123. Sharron Gregory October 29, 2009

Another wild guess—just read the latest post on your blog. When you said the images wouldn’t show up in the store, I thought it might be a ghost theme. I don’t know how you would do it but would be intriguing!

  124. Isabel Zito October 29, 2009

I have no idea why this popped in my head but you kept saying “hit the nail on the head” and other sayings that made me think of a set for the masculine cards—tools, building items, etc. Do I have you laughing?

  125. Serena October 29, 2009

    Pirates?

  126. Serena October 29, 2009

    Ships, sailing scenes?

  127. Mary Campbell October 29, 2009

Okay, I left a comment earlier today guessing Santa and Mrs. Claus. Could it be the North Pole and Santa’s workshop? Wouldn’t that be cute, with Mrs. Claus baking cookies.

  128. Cherie Bakow October 29, 2009

I’m guessing a holiday background set!

  129. Christine B October 29, 2009

Various shapes and sizes of Birdhouses?

  130. Laurie Marmon October 29, 2009

How about gingerbread cookies we’ll be able to make as Santa or Mrs. Claus?

  131. jacki tobin October 29, 2009

Well, how about a toy chest?

  132. jacki tobin October 29, 2009

Okay, Claire – my next guess is “Secret Santa”!
    (3rd time’s a charm, isn’t it?) :)
    Thanks for all the fun!

  133. Karolyn Loncon October 29, 2009

Okay, here’s my second guess. I’m going to say that you’re going to make a stamp set that would be similar to your Country Stencil Quilts. The set would include different quilt blocks, as well as a frame to place the different quilt blocks. Is that it? LOL Boy, I sure hope so because I’m am completely stumped otherwise!!

  134. MicheyMoo October 29, 2009

Wow!! This is sooooo much harder than I thought!!
Everyone’s idea up above sounds so great….yet I can see their answer so I know its obviously not correct. ;)

How about a “Causes” set – something for Breast Cancer or Ovarian Cancer….or even Prostate Cancer…..something that will also have some funds donated to a specific cause, hence the need for “special” passwords, etc.

  135. MicheyMoo October 29, 2009

Or a hope you’re feeling better/get well set……I know I’m often in need of a get well card to send to a dear loved one, unfortunately. :(

  136. MicheyMoo October 29, 2009

Or maybe its a digital release of either an existing set or a new set!!

See…..I’m not very good at thinking outside of the square. Its why I buy the stamps to use and don’t “create” them for myself, lol!!

  137. MicheyMoo October 29, 2009

How about a Mother’s Day/Father’s Day set – lots of pretty flowers and sentiments……or male images and sentiments??

or a set based around all the Jewish holidays for the year…..I’m a good little Christian girl….but I have plenty of friends who are Jewish and often need to create a little something for whichever particular holiday/holy day it is.

I think I’m done with guessing now……unless I have a brainsnap overnight and think of something truly Uh-may-ZING!!

How about a set to dress up those great tower boxes you make?? With windows and house stuff, etc

My first guess is that you have licensed or made an agreement with another manufacturer to use their product with your stamp images. Like maybe you have a deal to use Martha Stewart punches or Fiskars’ or somebody’s exclusive punch designs, and you have stamp images to go with them. Or stamps that fit into Cricut shapes? Or maybe you have designed stamps to go with a company’s paper line? Either that or you have licensed a company’s artwork or logo or name or something.

My second guess is that this will be a customer appreciation reward set and the way to get the password to the secret blog will be to have ordered a certain amount or something. I’m thinking a “stamped by” or logo set of some kind. Something exclusive that people can use to show off how much they love your company with. hehe
